About the shop
A thirty-eight seat room on Jackson built around an open hearth. The menu changes with what the fire suits and what came in that morning, so it is short and it is different most weeks.

Dinner
Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30pm, with the last table seated at close.
The counter
Eight stools facing the fire, held back for walk-ins each evening.
Wine
A short list built around what the kitchen is cooking, poured by the glass.
Private hire
The whole room for larger parties on nights we are otherwise closed.

The whole room smells of woodsmoke before you sit down. Everything off the fire was worth the wait for a table.
Service that pays attention without hovering. They remembered we'd come in for an anniversary the year before.
Genuinely excellent cooking. It is loud once the bar fills, so ask for a table at the back if you want to talk.
